The Dover Family Fund
(Margaret) Peggy Nonhebel, née Dover, generously funded a charity to promote art and the education of art in and around Darlington.
The charity is the Dover Family Fund and is managed by the County Durham Foundation. In partnership with Darlington Borough Council and the Darlington Society of Arts, the Fund not only finances the Dover Prize competition but also awards art project grants to the Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College.
Following the creation of a community art space in the newly refurbished Darlington Arts Centre, the competition is to be re-launched as a biennial event at Easter 2008.
